Howdy, we’re the Kytes!

In November 2023, we packed up our life in Austin, TX with our two young kids and headed to small-town Indiana in search of more land, a quieter pace, and less traffic (although we both grew up in small towns, so in a way we’re just back to our roots).

At first, we opened our property as a vacation rental and wedding venue in August 2024. Then life threw us a curveball — we almost sold it. When that fell through, it gave us a chance to pause, reevaluate, and get honest about what we really wanted. And in the midst of all that change, we also welcomed our third baby — adding to both the joy and the chaos of life here.

The answer was simple: we love it here. So instead of letting go, we decided to live here full-time — and open it up as a private outdoor photography venue. It turns out, the whole property is one big backdrop, from the quiet lakeside views to the rustic lodge and wooded trails.

We’re also figuring out life as small-town transplants (again), raising kids while managing a big property — sometimes gracefully, sometimes not.
